Biographical information:

Since school, I've been... I have worked for GHB Broadcasting for most of my working career since I graduated from UNC in 1973. I am currently Operations Manager for Oldies 106.1 in Charlotte.

My family: I have been married to Sandy Sims (West Charlotte Class of 1972)since 1978. Our daughter Melanie is an RN at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

Life experiences: Meeting some of the recording artists whose music I have played on the radio including: The Beach Boys, The Kingston Trio, James Blackwood, The Happy Goodman Family, The Lewis Family and The Bill Gaither Trio. Singing a song with the Lamar Sego Family in two of their concerts.

My favorite things in school: Mr. Ballance's Radio class. Interact Club. Starring in the movie Mrs. Parker's Advanced English Class made in 10th grade.

My favorite things now: Listening to the oldies. Surfin' the Net. Getting to know other Garinger alums via email. Taking walks with my wife Sandy.

My favorite books, movies and music: Movies: Gone With The Wind, American Graffitti, Airplane, Ray, James Bond movies. Music: Oldies from the 1950's and early 60's. Bluegrass, Traditional Country(Hank Wlliams, Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline, etc.) Big Band. Books: Novels by Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Steinbeck and Kurt Vonnegut.
